PAY: $600 – $1,700 per day(1) + all expenses covered(2)

Employment Type: Part-Time Contractor


(1) Pay rate is $600 per day for each maritime security officer; boat pilots earn a day rate of $700 per day.  Qualified boat pilots who own a security vessel / watercraft may qualify to earn an additional $1,000 per day if their vessel/watercraft is utilized for the security operation.  A qualified security vessel is defined as a single or twin screw patrol vessel that is fully registered, insured, and in full working order.
(2) Covered expenses include flights, lodging, meals, vehicles, fuel, and other operational equipment needed to support the mission.


Employer is a US private security company seeking Armed Maritime Security (MARSEC) Officers to provide maritime security in support of US Navy vessels at various US commercial seaports and private shipyards throughout the United States.  Qualified candidates who own a private watercraft or security patrol vessel may earn an additional $1,000 per day on top of the $700 per day labor rate for use of their watercraft.  Ideal candidates are current or former Maritime Law Enforcement at the local, state, or federal level who also possesses a US Coast Guard or US Military SOF background with amphibious / maritime operational experience.  Please read all minimum AND preferred qualifications before applying.

JOB DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

– Provide Armed MARSEC officers to pilot and crew single and twin screw Inflatable RIB’s
– Inflatable RIB’s will provide outer concentric ring of security to maintain stand-off distance and intercept vessels from approaching US Navy vessels
– Security agent will work 12 hour shifts 7 days a week for length of rotation
– Security agent will be exposed to all weather conditions day and night with limited to no cover
– Coordination with local, state, federal, military assets operating in the AO will be necessary

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS (please do not apply if you do not meet ALL of the following):

– US Citizens only
– Only open to US Military veterans OR current/former law enforcement officers who have experience providing armed protective security in amphibious / maritime environments
– DD-214 with Honorable Discharge (if military)
– Must be physically fit and able to pass a physical fitness test
– Must be able to occasionally run or sprint, regularly lift and/or move up to 50 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move more than 100 pounds
– Able to swim in open waters

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

– Active TWIC Card
– Possess current STCW-10
– Possess a USCG approved maritime security certification
– Current or retired law enforcement with LEOSA H.R. 218
– Candidates from a SOF background from any US military service (candidates from former ODA dive teams, USCG MSRT/ME, USMC Force Recon, or US Navy SEAL/SWCC are preferred)
– Candidates from the US Coast Guard Maritime Security Response Team (MSRT) or Maritime Enforcement Specialist
– Have current local, state or federal law enforcement connections with maritime units or US Navy / Coast Guard units operating in the area
– Own a vessel / watercraft that can be used for maritime security operations (vessel should be a center console inflatable RIB or fiberglass hull with hard or soft T-Top, or an inflatable RIB, aluminum, or fiberglass pilot house that would be used for port security operations. Vessels should have an LOA of 18′ – 40′.)
