PAY: $2,000 (USD)/day
Employment Type: Contractor (1099)
Rotation: 2-4 weeks on /2-4 weeks off (1)
(1) Rotation schedule may vary based on operational requirements; Expect irregular tempo and short-notice adjustments. Schedule and rotation will be discussed in more detail with qualified, vetted candidates.
An established maritime client is seeking multiple Maritime Security Operators for high-threat anti-piracy operations in East and West Africa. These are offshore deployments on non-standard vessels, operating in areas with limited coverage and elevated threat. Teams are expected to be self-sufficient and capable of handling security without relying on outside assets.
Prior experience in anti-piracy, maritime security, or high-threat boarding operations is required. Competitive candidates will have backgrounds from U.S. Naval Special Warfare, U.S.M.C. Raiders / Recon, and other Maritime SOF (SBS, SASR, NTOG, etc.). Those without significant anti-piracy or high-threat maritime experience will not be competitive for this role. Former SOF who have operational experience in Africa but otherwise lack high-threat anti-piracy or maritime experience may be considered for certain limited support roles.
JOB DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
– Provide armed maritime security during vessel transits in offshore environments
– Operate as part of a small team responsible for vessel and personnel security
– Maintain continuous situational awareness and threat assessment while underway
– Execute security posture, deterrence, and escalation in accordance with rules of engagement
– Integrate with vessel crew and operate effectively on non-standard platforms
– Conduct watch rotations, maintain readiness, and respond to emerging threats
– Operate with limited external support in remote or constrained environments
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS (please do not apply if you do not meet ALL of the following):
– Prior military service (U.S., U.K., AUS, NZ, CAN) with operational experience in anti-piracy, maritime security, or boarding / interdiction operations
– Experience operating outside protected waters (offshore or coastal environments)
– Ability to operate in small teams without direct supervision
– Experience working under rules of engagement / use-of-force constraints
– Physically capable of sustained operations in maritime environments
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
– Backgrounds in Naval Special Warfare, Marine Raiders / Recon, or other maritime-focused SOF units
– Prior experience operating from non-standard or commercial vessels
– Direct anti-piracy experience, particularly in East Africa (Gulf of Aden / Somali Basin) or West Africa (Gulf of Guinea)
– Familiarity with high-traffic shipping lanes and offshore operating environments
– Experience working in Africa or coordinating with local forces / assets
– Former SOF medics
