PAY: $130,000 – $160,000 / year(1) + Bonuses(2) + Benefits(3)

A U.S. Political Action Committee (PAC) is seeking a Director of Security for its headquarters in Washington, D.C. This role involves overseeing all cybersecurity and physical security operations and leading readiness training for the organization. As the Director of Security, you will be granted a discretionary budget for professional development, certification, firearms training, instructor coordination, etc. as needed to achieve the organization’s security objectives.
Ideal candidates have prior experience as a Director of Security and have extensive Executive Protection experience as a Solo Practitioner for high net worth and high-profile clients.
This role is hybrid (3 days/week on-site, 2 days/week remote) and designed for someone who wants to build a long-term, high-trust security operation from the ground up.

JOB DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
– Maintain full responsibility for the organization’s cybersecurity infrastructure (i.e. endpoint protection, secure communication, phishing response, and cyber hygiene protocols)
– Manage all aspects of physical office safety including access control, emergency planning, and coordination with building and public safety personnel
– Lead development and delivery of team-wide training programs, including:
» Self-defense (e.g., Krav Maga, Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu)
» Firearms safety and supervised range instruction (through external partners)
» Active shooter response, emergency evacuation drills
» First aid, CPR, trauma medicine
» Physical fitness and wellness
– Vet and coordinate third-party instructors and vendors as required
– Draft and maintain all security and emergency protocols
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS (do not apply without meeting all minimum qualification requirements):
– 5+ years of prior experience in military, law enforcement, or private military
– Have 3+ years prior executive protection experience with at least 1 year as a Solo Practitioner
– Have prior experience organizing and conducting security and self defense-related live trainings and drills
– Prior work experience being solely responsible for physical security planning (i.e. establishing emergency protocols, drills, access management) for an entire organization
– Formal cybersecurity certifications are not required at time of hire; however, candidate must be familiar with cybersecurity principles and tools
– Have experience operating independently with minimal oversight
– High maturity level and history of confidential, sensitive work
– Must be legally authorized to work in the United States
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
– Prior US military SOF preferred; allied military services also considered (including Israeli Defense Forces)
– Able to speak Hebrew at a conversational level or better
– Possess current cybersecurity certifications (i.e. CompTIA Security+, CISSP, CISM, etc.)
– Possess an active security clearance
– Candidate is experienced in martial arts or self-defense instruction (e.g., Krav Maga, Jiu-Jitsu, etc.)
– Have prior experience organizing and leading firearms instruction and tactical training
– Previous Executive Protection experience with political organizations or political clients
– Experience working with political organizations, NGOs, or clients in the policy, national security, or family/political advocacy space
– Possess active medical/EMT certifications (i.e. CPR/AED, TCCC, EMT-B, EMT-I, EMT-P, etc.)
– Live in the Washington D.C. metropolitan area
