JOB LOCATION: Iraq (this job is no longer being staffed in Afghanistan)
START DATE: Immediate
PAY: $450-$500 / Day (depending upon location)
JOB DESCRIPTION: Employer is seeking experienced armorers for full time contract work in Afghanistan or Iraq; qualified candidates must have a minimum of 4 years of armorer experience gained in the US military or a law enforcement organization and have served a minimum of 12 months of deployment time in a combat zone.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
– Armorer will report to the weapons program officer for all work-related technical activities
– Maintain open communications with Armory for all work-related technical activities
– Repair and maintain all weapons outlined in the task order
– Install special technical equipment for weapons, including, but not limited to:
* Optics
* Flashlights
* Grenade launchers
* Night vision equipment
* Laser sights
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS (do not apply if you do not meet ALL of the following):
– Candidate MUST be a US citizen
– Must possess a valid US driver’s license
– Must possess a valid US passport
– Must be fluent in English (reading, writing, speaking and comprehension)
– Must possess the following valid certifications from the manufacturer or other source of instruction approved by DS/PSP/DEAV on all of the following weapons:
* Colt M4
* Sig-Sauer P228/229
* Glock 19 Pistol
* Remington 870 Shotgun
* Remington M24/700 Sniper Rifle
* FN Manufacturing M240 Machine Gun
* FN Manufacturing M249 Squad Automatic Weapon
* Knight’s Armament Company SR-25 Sniper Rifle
* Colt M203 Grenade Launcher
– Must possess a minimum of four (4) years of military (MOS 2111, 45B, or equivalent) or law enforcement armorer experience
– A minimum of one (1) year of this experience must have been earned overseas
– Must possess the ability to lift and move equipment weighing up to fifty (50) pounds
– Must attend and successfully complete all required training
– Must attend and successfully complete armorer in-brief and orientation conducted by DS/PSP/DEAV
– Must qualify with the Glock-19 and M4 and re-qualify as required by the task order
– Must be able to obtain and maintain a Department of State (DoS) Secret security clearance
– Must be able to complete a Physical Readiness Test at the 50% performance level, and maintain that fitness level for the duration of his/her service on the task order
– Candidate must not possess any impediment to traveling overseas to and within countries that are considered dangerous or unhealthy in general, or to the country or countries assigned in the applicable task order in specific.
